Curacao 2006

What an awesome place, maybe it wasnt so much the location as it was the company and the activites. It was a work related event but who would have guess. We got to go ATV’ing on the over the river and through the woods, our group was safe but some others had a few mishaps. There was even a casualty, poor dog :( . I also go to ride a ski-doo in the ocean for a while, which i might add is a lot differant then riding one on a lake or a river. We were supposed to swim with dolphins one day too but i guess they had thier little dolphin panties in a bunch and didnt want to come out a play, bastards!

The hotell we stayed at, the Marriot, also had a casino. So as you can guess we spent a bit of time in there as well. I got a lot of help at my blackjack game, which was very nice, as its the only game I play at the casino. Lets be real, its the only game i understand in the casino other then roulette. Id love to learn craps sometime though.

Curacao has a pretty well known whorehouse on it and what is a vacation with a trip to a brothel? This one is a little differant then most though. It is made from an old military base. I think the official name is ‘The Mirage’ but its also referred to Camp-O or as i prefer, JIzzneyland. This place is huge, has a bar, fitness center, public showers(for the girls) hundreds of cabins. It even has a doctors office and nail salon, on site. These hookers have it made. Its also a good place to score other party favors. :)

I had dinner at one of the coolest restaurant locations ever, right on the water at the mouth of the main port in Williamsted. I had some really good real in mushroom sauce for dinner followed up with some very tasty ice cream, sorbet, whatever it was. Im not the icy treat expert.

We also went on a little snorkeling trip which was totally awesome. This was the first time i ever snorkeled in salt water, before that only in the rivers back home. Saw a ton of cool fish, and got to dive around a ship wreck, which i hurt myself on a little bit. I saw some other folks diving through it, so i tried. I got a little hung up on the edge of my exit hole and scapped up my back. Id like to say lesson learned but i would still do it all again, just more carefully this time.

The island seemed very poor in the places that the general population lived. Security also seemed to be a big issue as many homes were completely encompassed in fenchs, often barbed or razor wired at top. The people of the island were always pleasant and helpful. No complaints about curacao whatsoever.
