Croatia is one of the coolest countries I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. It was the first place I ever swam in the Mediterranean Sea and the first time I ever went parasailing behind a boat. Both experiences were really cool. I will also add that Croatia has some very nice looking woman.
I first went to Croatia in July of 2006 with a friend of mine named Joe. We visited a town called Porec which is situated on the coast in northern Croatiain in an area also known as Istra. He went there to get a speed boat skippers license and I went along for the fun time. We drove from Vienna, which is only a five or so hour car ride each way. The route takes you through Austria, Slovenia and very close to the eastern most part of Italy. The drive would be much shorter if Slovenians knew how to drive better. They just cant seem to grasp the thought of… left lane fast, right lane slow. We stayed at Hotel Porec, its a nice little hotel. Nothing extravagant but it got the job done, a nice bed, a shower and free breakfast if you were up before 10. All for only €50 a night. The hotel also had a casino on the first floor, this is wear we ended almost every night there. The barkeep also tried to shut me down a few a times, I was forced to order small glasses of beer, HAHA. If you ever find yourself there, I highly recommend you check out the ‘Zorro’ slot machines… they are your friends. The beaches in Porec were not sand but still very nice and the Sea was pretty clean too.
